Marketed as an offshore fishing boat, the Sea Ray introduced the 430 Convertible in 1988. She's a scaled-down version of Sea Ray's 460 Convertible with a low foredeck, stepped sheer, and a rakish deckhouse profile. She was built on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with moderate beam and prop pockets. In fact, the 430 is more of a family cruiser than a fishing boat - like her larger sistership. The Euro-style interior is arranged with a mid-level galley and two staterooms forward. The salon is dominated by a big wraparound settee/dinette to starboard and a built-in entertainments center aft. The cockpit, with direct access to the engine room, is large enough for a mounted fighting chair, or some deck chairs and a table. Additional features include a transom door and a swim platform. (Note: Swim platform has been removed, but is included with the yacht). With the twin 375hp Cat diesels, she cruises at about 20-21 knots while reaching a top speed of around 25 knots. Do not let the hours scare you away. These are the strong 3208's...she had the top ends refurbished at 1,500 hours...with just 950 hours since, she's got plenty of life left in her!
